Whassup y’all?! I want to give a little insight on my concept album “Untitled Space Project”. Everything began with the cover art that I made in photoshop while messing around. For as long as I can remember I always believed in extraterrestrial life. The idea that we (earth’s inhabitants) are the only living creatures in the universe doesn’t make sense to me at all. I touched on this on my Supernova album with the track “Intelligence”. I used a clip from Neil deGrasse Tyson where he talks about how aliens could in fact be far more intelligent than us. Logically it makes sense when you think about how mass our universe is. Always been fascinated by science since I was a kid. It was way too many distractions to get into it in school.
"a black boy was abducted by unknown beings and has to decide if he wants to leave earth or stay amongst the chaos."
I tried to take the listener on a journey that has a dooms day movie feel. This black boy was thrown into a society that doesn’t care about him or anyone around him. “thetripuppp” is the moment he is abducted into the unknown spacecraft. “spaceandtime” represents the black boy’s first time experiencing the shift in gravity and how that alters time. After meeting these extraterrestrial beings he then has to “choose” whether to come with them or return back to earth. If he returns he’ll continue to be treated unfairly because of his skin color. Leave with them and he’ll be treated like an equal. Had this idea at the time that if he do go they could remove all traumas generated by this society.
Things all lead to “weirdbeats” which was originally called ‘wildbeats” (no clue why I used “weird”). Think I’m lowkey showing how far the rabbit hole goes in terms of beat music. You can get very experimental but still hold the vibe. In my head I see the final track “heavybam!” played as the credits roll. This was a beat that didn’t make my Supernova album. An easter egg or something lol.
Keep having fun making beats. The music business will have you straying away from creative freedom but personally I’m not with that. Make whatever you want.
